Sim sim is very drought resistant, and can survive in harsh conditions where other crops struggle making a major cash crop in most areas of Pakwach district. Cassava has become cash crop as well.

Over the past years cassava was majorly for home consumption and not commercial this could have been due long period of time it for cassava to be harvested. But with the modern hybrids that take short period of time to yield, people have started making money out of it.

We are looking at encouraging farmers to embrace simsim and cassava value addition  for a better livelihood among our people
